Grill Lights

Grill lights come in many forms, with lighting for gas BBQ, car, truck grills and more.

Many people enjoy having barbecues during the summer months and while there is plenty of natural light for cooking during the day, a little help may be required in the evening hours. For this reason a range of grill lights are available on the market and these can typically be attached to a barbecue to provide a little illumination.

The majority of grill lights available have similar designs, although the look can vary for different models. The features typically include the light itself, which commonly use LED style bulbs, a flexible neck such that the light can be manipulated to set it in the best position and some form of clamp, which enables the light to be attached to the grill or barbecue. Other styles are less commonly available and these usually comprise simply the light and a clamp, which can be attached to a handle above a grill. With many people enjoying an alfresco meal on the porch or in the garden during the summer months, lights for a grill can be a handy accessory to have available.

While they are called grill lights and are typically used on barbecues or outdoor grills, they can be used anywhere that a little extra light is needed. Their portable nature means they can easily be moved around and the clamp enables them to be fixed to many different surfaces. This can include work benches, desks, artist easels and tables to name a few. This makes them a versatile lamp to have available and they can serve a number of purposes around the home and office.

There are a few manufacturers that produce grill lights with some of the more well known names including Brinkmann, Weber, Designers Edge and Maverick. A model that gets good reviews is the Maverick GL-05 4 LED 12 inch Basic Grill Light which can be found on the market for around $27. This is a battery operated light, such that there is no cord attached to get in the way. The 4 LED bulbs provide plenty of light and the 12 inch goose neck is flexible, making it easy to position the light as required. The light has a simple clamp for fixing to surfaces up to 1 inch thick and one set of batteries should provide 4 to 6 hours of light.

The L-856 Hardwired Barbecue or Workbench Utility Light by Designers Edge is another grill light that gets good reviews. This is a stylish looking light which features a brushed chrome finish and costs around $29. The flexible neck and switch are weatherproof making it ideal for outside use and the 50 watt MR-16 bulb provides decent light.
